Teacher of Vinyasa Yoga and Pranayama

The more I teach yoga, the more I learn. I look forward to each new turn and insight along my journey. Yoga (in the full sense) has become my guide in life - showing me the way to self-acceptance and true freedom.

A regular yoga practice will offer remarkably effective relief from stress and trauma (which is stored in the body), improve energy levels and quality of sleep, as well as foster a positive outlook in life. Vibrant health and calmness of mind are further benefits of bringing awareness into the body through movement. Paying attention to our breath by learning breathing techniques empowers us to regain control in stressful situations. We take agency for our own health and wellbeing again ~ it is a powerful reconnection to our true selves.

In my personal life, practicing yoga and pranayama has calmed my thoughts, strengthened my body and guided me to acceptance of myself. It has gifted me peace that I had not before thought possible.

Training/ qualifications

250-hour Vinyasa Teacher Training Course, Spiralling Crow TT School with Alessandro Gozzi (Oxford) graduating in July 2020

25-hour Hot Power Flow TT, Spiralling Crow TT School with Caroline Gozzi (Oxford) graduating in 2021

I have done workshops for yoga teachers through Yoga Venue in Oxford, in Back Bends, Pranayama/Breath work, and Yoga for Menopause.

Yoga Retreat (as part of a 170-hour TT Course in Therapeutic Somatics for Yoga Teachers with Charlotte Watts)

My teacher training included a comprehensive knowledge of the poses/asana used in Vinyasa sequencing and the anatomy involved in these poses. We studied breathing techniques as well as the philosophy and history of yoga. I continue on my learning journey by practicing yoga as a student and reading many books about yoga, wellness, breathwork and happiness. I gather words and search for a richness in my teaching vocabulary so that I may better express the healing power of connection between our bodies, minds and spirit.

FOCUS ON ASANA

These are short focus tutorials (2 to 5 minutes) on specific poses/asana that are used in the Vinyasa sequences.

During a flow of movement, there is little time to give all the cues necessary to find the shape of the pose, the assumption being that these poses are known to the student (which is not always the case).

Taking time to really focus on one pose will allow your body to know the shape of it so that you can flow from one pose to the next with ease.

Suggestion: try doing one focus video every week.

15 MINUTE SUN SALUTATION FLOW

These videos will guide you through a Surya namaskar/Sun Salutation sequence (with variations) which can be a simple practice for a busy day, a warmup for a stronger practice, or a 'before bed' stretch to help you relax before sleep.

Suggestion: follow your sun salutation flow with one of the savasana videos for a fitting end to your Surya namaskar

SAVASANA

Each class includes a shortened savasana, so I have included a selection of longer guided savasana that can be used to finish a class, or as a helpful stand-alone practice of relaxation and calming of mind and body whenever this is needed.

Suggestion: do first a sun salutation flow to prepare the body for your delicious savasana - a perfect combo
